A frequently made comment of first time visitors to Lincolnshire is "I never realised there was so much to do".  As Lincolnshire is a large and unspoilt county, there is plenty of variety and contrasts just waiting to be discovered

Amongst the many attractions not to be missed, Lincoln, with its magnificent Cathedral, Castle and Museum of Lincolnshire Life, must surely be high on the list of things to see, if you visit the Cathedral, see if you can spot the Lincoln Imp.

Get into your car and slow your pace down and discover nearer to Sycamore Cottage, Louth, a brick built Market Town with a rural charm, all of its own. The hidden twisting lanes of Tennyson Country, where villages have such names as Bag Enderby, Ashby Puerorum, Tennyson Country forms the southern part of the Lincolnshire Wolds, designated as an area of outstanding natural beauty, it is said that Lincolnshire has a bit of every County of England in it, the Wolds to the Fens, go for a walk along part of the Viking Way.

For the Motor Cycle enthusiast Cadwell Park is just over 4 miles away, with regular meets during the summer. Lots of little villages around have Garden Centres, Potteries and Craft shops, Aviation Museums, Golf, at Louth, Woodhall Spa, Market Rasen, to name but three.

If you discover a must go to place, let us know and we can add it to our list of places of interest.  From Mid November to January you can visit Donna Nook where the Grey Seal Colony makes its temporary home, while the females come into give birth, mate and rear the young.

December is the time also for the Annual Lincoln Christmas Market usually starting about the 8th of the month this runs for just one weekend, but is fast becoming one of the biggest street markets in the Country.

We hope you enjoy your stay with us at Sycamore Cottage and the surrounding area.
